The AI assistant, Microsoft Copilot Vision tool, can now view your full desktop, not just two applications.
This upgrade is currently available to Windows Insiders. Previously, Copilot Vision could only analyze two windows at a time.
Now, it can scan your entire screen. That includes any open app, browser, or desktop window.
Manual Activation
Unlike Microsoft’s Recall feature, Copilot Vision does not work in the background. It does not take constant snapshots of your screen.
Instead, users activate it manually by clicking the glasses icon in the Copilot app and selecting the area to share.
This design gives users full control. You decide when and what Copilot sees.
Copilot Vision
Once activated, Copilot Vision can observe what’s on your screen and provide real-time support.
For instance, it can analyze documents, explain on-screen content, or guide you through tasks.
The tool can also assist with resume edits, provide suggestions during creative work, and may even guide users through unfamiliar software or games.
The point is to reduce time spent switching between apps with Copilot Vision’s timely and relevant advice.

More Uses
The feature also works with mobile phones. Users can point their camera at objects or text, then Copilot analyzes the input and responds.
This flexibility means the tool is not limited to desktop use. It can offer help across devices and settings.
User Privacy
Microsoft has addressed privacy concerns by making Copilot Vision opt-in. The tool does not record your screen; it only views what you permit and only while the session is active.
Still, there’s a need to tread with caution. Sensitive content should only be shared when necessary.
