TurboLearn is an AI study assistant that extracts key ideas from learning resources and presents them in simple notes. This makes for better study sessions, revisions, and self-assessment.

1. Study Notes
TurboLearn AI generates concise study notes from shared resources (links and documents). The notes follow a structured pattern that disintegrates information for easy understanding. It features a summary, explanation, and key ideas and concepts.
Note: TurboLearn’s ability to generate helpful study notes depends on the resource it’s fed with.
I pasted a YouTube link on Schrodinger’s cat and the realities of quantum mechanics in the macroscopic world into TurboLearn. Then I requested that it generate study notes from it.
TurboLearn AI created structured lesson notes that included a summary, key points, and concepts, and a detailed explanation.
I especially found the ‘detailed explanation’ section to be very helpful. It clarified my former misunderstanding of the subject with its use of simple language.
Next, I decided to use this for even more complex topics like advanced trigonometry. I downloaded notes on Trigonometry from the University of Utah and uploaded them to TurboLearn.
The generated notes followed the earlier pattern. And although they did provide clarity, I failed to fully grasp the concepts. I want to chalk this up to my very basic knowledge of trigonometry. I would have loved it if TurboLearn had the added feature of a chatbot for iteration and further clarification. Still, the tool did provide help.

Next, I explored the arts, specifically the topic of Semiotics and Symbolism.
The notes were indeed explanatory, but they were more like a skim of the topic. Actual topical depth was missing. This can be attributed to the quality and depth of the original resource. I noticed that TurboLearn doesn’t come up with new information of its own to add depth, but rather is reliant on uploaded material.
TurboLearn also receives inputs from audio clips in formats not limited to MP3, WAV, M4A, and OGG. There is an attached recorder within TurboLearn for live recordings. The live recordings are transcribed, edited, and refined for coherence. Thereafter, TurboLearn extracts study notes.
Source Code
An impressive thing I found about TurboLearn is that it makes the source code available. After generating study notes from a YouTube link I posted. It made the transcript available, which acted as the source code for the generated notes.
This has a few benefits. I could verify the accuracy of the notes, make edits, extract key sections, and even reuse them in other study tools.
2. Smart Diagrams
This smart feature is responsible for generating visual representations of uploaded material. It creates concept maps, flowcharts, and relationship diagrams.
3. Learning Gallery
With each study session, TurboLearn collates the notes and transforms them into a gallery that users can revisit. This is especially helpful for revision.
The Bottom Line
TurboLearn AI is a helpful study tool. It generates study notes, visuals, and a learning gallery. However, it is not a comprehensive study tool. It lacks features found in many other study tools, like mock quizzes, interactive learning, and even integrations with Learning Management Systems.
