Overview and Main Features

1. Online Editing

Veed.io’s core strength is in its online, cloud-based platform that allows on-the-go video editing. Therefore, you can access Veed.io from virtually every computer or tablet with an internet connection. 

This accessibility also lets you jump into projects without the delays associated with software installations and updates. 

To test this tool, I visited the website and created an account. It’s that simple. Then, I got around to creating. The interface was very intuitive and I was presented with two options to either edit a video or generate one with AI. I decided to generate one with AI.

I was presented with a few prompts to get started. However, I decided to write mine:

The result was quite impressive. The video showed a good enough commercial advertising fruit juice. Also, humans were featured in the video complete with a catchy voice-over. The video was also presented in editable layers. I did move a few things around to effect some edits. 

2. Auto-Subtitles & Transcription

The tool automatically generates subtitles for your video, and it does this in multiple languages. 

However, the audio and subtitles were in French. But not to worry, there’s a setting to change the language. 

The auto-subtitles are however robotic and AI-sounding.  

3. Screen Recording & Webcam Capture

This Veed.io feature lets you record your screen and webcam simultaneously. This is applicable if creating an interactive tutorial or presentation. Imagine a presentation where the slides are displayed on the screen and the presenter’s face is visible in a corner, narrating key points. Veed.io lets it get as real and interactive as it can get virtually.

4. Text & Animation Effects    

Veed.io lets you create animated texts and visuals to hold and captivate an audience. These visuals range from simple emojis to elaborate illustrations. You can apply this feature to the auto-generated subtitles. Each block of subtitles can be changed in font and then animated.

This use of animation not only makes videos more visually appealing but also makes content memorable. 

5. Background Noise Removal    

In Veed.io, background noise is non-existent. The audio is clean and free of distracting elements. In the AI-generated video, the only background element is gentle music to complement the voice-over. 

6. Voice Cloning   

 

Veed.io allows you to either use the voices of one of the actors or clone a new one. There are also variations to the language it speaks. Take English as a language, Veed.io offers U.S. British, Canadian, Nigerian, Kenyan and Australian English. Once you pick a voice, you can expect Veed.io to issue narratives and voice-overs using that accent. 

In addition to this, there are sound effects options. There is ‘Forest bird singing’, ‘Failure error mistake’, ‘Tune FM radio’ and many others. The effects sound convincing and authentic. The effects are further divided into Effects, Bells, Foley, Buzzers, Crowd, Ambient, and Sounds of Nature.

The ambient sound effect has forest and ocean options that are over 1-minute long to really introduce the details. The best part is these are all in the free plan. 

7. Text-to-speech    

You can write your own script, select your preferred voice and the tool will generate a voice-over. Also, you can clone your own voice. The AI will pick up on the nuances of your voice and replicate it in the voice-over.

8. Media Uploads 

If using an AI-generated video, Veed.io lets you incorporate other media into it. Nothing gets disrupted and the voice-over remains unless you decide to replace it. And if you decide to start from scratch as well, you can easily import media into Veed.io. 

9. AI Avatars 

If you want to give a presentation or a tutorial without showing your face, you can try using an AI avatar to make things engaging. You don’t have to use a pre-set one. AI lets you clone not just your voice but also your face.

The Biggest Pro: Veed.io provides a range of video editing tools and AI features for free. 

The Biggest Con: This is not the best tool for advanced professional video editing. Plus, it gets clunky when working with your own media. This is in contrast with the AI generated media.
