Google has launched Gemini on Wear OS smartwatches. Soon, Gemini will replace Google Assistant across all its platforms.

Alongside this update, Google has also improved the Circle to Search feature, adding AI Mode for deeper reasoning and better search results.

These changes aim to improve how users interact with both their smartwatches and smartphones.

Gemini is only available to Wear OS watches running version 4 or higher. Supported devices include those from Pixel, Samsung, OPPO, OnePlus, and Xiaomi.

The rollout will take place over the coming weeks and will enable users to access a more advanced AI assistant directly from their wrists.

Aside from having better capabilities, it is also better integrated with other apps and services.

To activate Gemini, users can say “Hey Google,” then press and hold the side button or tap the Gemini app icon on the screen

New Tasks Gemini Can Handle

Gemini is designed to help with everyday tasks. It can answer questions, complete actions across apps, and remember important information.

For example, users can ask basic questions like “At what temperature should I cook the Thanksgiving Turkey?”

To multitask, Gemini can be asked to do some scheduling, all while their hands are in use.

AI Mode Enhances Circle to Search

Google is also bringing upgrades to Circle to Search, a feature that lets users start a Google search by circling, scribbling, or tapping on something on their screen.

Now, AI Mode is being added. With it, users can ask follow-up questions and explore more details, without switching apps.

Here’s how it works:

  • Begin a visual search with Circle to Search
  • An AI Overview will appear in the results
  • At the bottom, tap “Dive deeper with AI Mode”
  • Ask more questions or request further explanations

The update also extends Circle to Search to mobile games. Gamers can now use it to identify new characters, discover winning strategies, or even learn about in-game elements mid-game.

AI Mode Now in Google Lens

Google is also making AI Mode available in Google Lens. It is now accessible via the Google app on both Android and iOS, but only in the United States and India.
